Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your therapy services may cost.

Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers are required to give a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges to clients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use their insurance (self-pay). Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services+2eCFR+2

When you can request one

You may request a Good Faith Estimate at any time, including:

  • before scheduling services, or

  • when you schedule your first appointment.

If your bill is higher than your estimate

If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Patient-Provider Dispute Resolution process
